The industry standard for antenna characterization has long depended on sequential scanning, physically moving a probe through space to map a radiation field. EM PATH introduces a paradigm shift with our solid-state, single-shot measurement platform. Instead of measuring point by point, our system passive-samples the entire electromagnetic field at once. The radiated field is directed into a chaotic cavity where it is physically scrambled and compressed, effectively performing compressive sensing at the hardware level. Advanced computational algorithms then solve the inverse problem, decoding this compressed data to instantly yield a full 3D radiation pattern with zero moving parts.
STEP 01
Passive spatial sampling
An array of sub-wavelength apertures samples the field radiated by the antenna. Each aperture becomes a virtual source, so the whole surface is read at once and nothing moves.
STEP 02
Wave encoding
Those sources couple into a chaotic cavity. Multipath scrambles them so that many virtual sources land on only a few measurements, compressive sensing performed in hardware, as the data is captured.
STEP 03
3D reconstruction
Solving the inverse problem recovers the near-field data, and a near-field to far-field transform yields the full 3D radiation pattern from that single capture.
